FAQ

Do I have to attend Book Club meetings?
No. Book club meeting attendance is not mandatory to be a part of the Reading Liberally community. Readers can choose to not attend meetings if they prefer not to, or attend virtually or in-person. The main goal of the club is to encourage group reading and create a place for discussion.

What if the club meeting date doesn't work for me?
If the meeting date doesn’t work for you, let us know! If there’s enough interest to get another date going at a different location, we’d be happy to find a Leader to organize a meetup. If you’re interested in being a Leader, even better! Just let us know at bookclub@44thdems.com.

What if I'm not a paid member of the 44th LD?
That’s OK! Reading Liberally is an open membership club. While we encourage people to engage with their local democratic parties, we do not require it.
-
Where does the club recommend I get my books from?
Reading Liberally encourages our members to break away from large chain bookstores and audio/ebook providers. We have a partnership with a locally owned indie bookstore called Wanderlust Book Lounge in Bothell that we encourage our members to patronize instead. They in return provide us with a place to meet, as well as discounts when we order our Book of the Month though them. You can find out more about them on the link provided under the Book Club header.

What if I can't afford to buy books?
There are alot of great library resources to check out that allow you to rent a physical book, or an ebook, or an audiobook.
Check out SnoIsle Library for more information.
Can’t find what you need there? Here is a list of libraries that don’t require residency for you to be a member of that might have more or different resources.
