The below initiatives have had resolutions created, approved and voted on by the 44th Legislative District Democrat’s Membership and Precinct Committee Officers.
These initiatives have our full confidence and support.
No Hate in WA State
We are encouraging everyone to vote no on initiatives I‑001 and I‑638 on November 3rd. NO Hate in WA State wants you to vote NO to protect our kids, support our LGBTQ youth, and stops both of these dangerous initiatives from creating lasting harm. I‑001 would force school counselors to disclose sensitive information even when a parent is under investigation for abuse, making it harder for vulnerable children to seek help and easier for abusers to intimidate or retaliate. I‑638 would require invasive genital inspections for girls of any age to participate in sports, a policy widely condemned by medical experts and youth‑safety advocates as discriminatory, traumatizing, and harmful to transgender and gender‑diverse students. These measures open the door to harassment, outing, and exclusion while worsening mental‑health outcomes for kids already facing high rates of bullying and violence. Both initiatives are backed by a single MAGA millionaire‑donor pushing a national agenda that diverts attention and resources away from real challenges Washington families face, like housing, food security, and access to care.
The 44th LD membership passed a resolution condemning IL26-001 and IL26-638, and endorsing No Hate in Washington State (previously Washington Families for Freedom) on January 28, 2026.
Sno-Isle Library Levy
The Sno‑Isle Library Levy provides 91% of the district’s operating budget, but because Washington limits levy growth to 1% per year, the rate steadily declines even as library use and operating costs rise; restoring the levy simply resets it to the voter‑approved 2018 level so Sno‑Isle Libraries can maintain current hours, staffing, books and digital materials, early‑learning programs, technology access, and safe, well‑maintained buildings—protecting essential services that thousands of residents rely on every day.

Whole Washington
The Washington Health Trust would establish the first state-wide, publicly financed, not for profit, healthcare system in the U.S.
Instead of multiple private insurance companies and multiple programs, the Washington Health Trust (WHT) would pay the healthcare expenses of Washington State residents.
This legislation was written by citizens, for citizens, free from the influence of corporate interests. Our goal is comprehensive universal healthcare, from cradle-to-grave with no one left out.
