
Committees of the 44th LD Democrats

• Maintains the website of the 44th, updating information in a timely manner.
• Maintains the master electronic mailing list of members of the 44th.
• Maintains the electronic mailing list of members/subscribers for communication among members of the 44th.
• Maintains all editorial rights (i.e. the right and discretion to edit and/or delete) any and all postings to any electronic lists of the 44th.
• Maintains other electronic mailing lists as needed.
• Assists in the running of virtual meetings of the body.
• Reviews and submits plans and budgets for technology and communication services

• Maintains the membership list, updating this information in a timely manner.
• Works with the Treasurer and Communications Coordinator to keep the electronic list of members/subscribers up to date.
• Works with the Sergeant at Arms to register members and guests at general meetings.
• Provides and maintains member and guest sign-in sheets for all general meetings.
• Coordinates outreach to schools, community groups and youth organizations located in the 44th to provide information about Democratic Party issues and events.
• Plans events and programs designed to increase community involvement in the 44th and educate the public about the Democratic Party.
• Works to recruit new general members, particularly those who are under the age of 35.

• Keeps informed about current national, state, and local legislative issues that deal with affirmative action, and reports on these issues, in a timely manner, to the membership.
• Works to inform the membership about the planks in the National, State and County Democratic Party Platform that deal with issues concerning inclusion, gender, and diversity
• Works with the county and state level Democratic Party to implement, foster, and support inclusion, gender, and diversity practices, policies, and procedures as related to the 44th's commitment, responsibility, and obligation to promote civil liberties and freedoms.
• Reviews any documents and resolutions slated for distribution or publication to ensure they align with the 44th’s commitment to Diversity, Equity & Inclusion.

• Review, and maintain the finances of the 44th LD in compliance with WA State Public Disclosure Laws
• Plans Fundraising activities for the 44th to raise funds for the organization’s operations.
• Review and approve spending plans, as needed, by other committees for final approval at the Eboard for actions, or events, that would otherwise require the use of Organizational funds.
• Perform a yearly audit of the organization’s finance records and report findings of the audit to the EBoard.

• Receives and reviews all requested changes by members of the body to the Bylaws, Standing Rules, or Code of Conduct.
• Reports to the Eboard all requested changes, and recommendations by the committee regarding the the Bylaws, Standing Rules or Code of Conduct.
• Submits and reports to the body reports, as needed, any requested changes by members of the body to the Bylaws, Standing Rules, or Code of Conduct for consideration or vote.
• Prior to the biennial reorganization meeting, the committee will review the whole of the Bylaws, Standing Rules, and Code of Conduct and submit changes as necessary by a vote of the committee and review of the EBoard.

• Maintains the list of elected and appointed PCOs, updating this information in a timely manner.
• Provides training to all PCOs, including empowering PCOs to create "walking lists".
• Works with existing PCOs to recruit new PCOs.
• Serves as a conduit of information between elected national, county and state officials and campaigns and the PCOs of the 44th.
• Stays up to date on election cycles, dates, and actions pertaining to the election of PCOs and communicates with the PCOs and membership said deadlines.

• Receives submitted Resolutions regarding legislative or political action from the general body for review and submission, subject to approval by the general body.
• Creates resolutions regarding legislative or political action for review and approval by the general body.
• Stays up to date on current legislation and political issues at both local and national levels.
• Provides Democratic speakers to schools, community groups and youth organizations in the 44th.
• Works with local organizations or elected officials to find speakers for general meetings pertaining to the interests of the 44th

Special committees may be created by the Chair when deemed necessary, and with the approval of the majority of the executive board. Each special committee shall have a clearly defined charter and budget.
